In all of these cities that are hot destinations for expats, it’s easy to find friends. The one downside is that you have a lot of friends who are only in the city a few months out of the year, or who are only in town for a few months of their life. A good place to start is the expat Facebook group of any given city—which will also give you an idea of what it’s like to live in that city (with a distinctly negative bias).
