It’s your job

There are certain phrases that carry their meaning through shared understanding. She’s my wife (of course I love her). Think about your kids (don’t shoot yourself).

One of these phrases is: It’s my job. Of course you’ll get it done. Of course sometimes you don’t feel like it.

It’s my job is bolstered by the assumption that you make money doing it. But, it can be just as powerful, even when you aren’t making money. If you treat it like your job, it will become your job.

So, go out there and make your art. It’s your job.

I’m in the middle of writing Getting Art Done. There’s still a chance for you to preview it.
